I am currently working with CPL Healthcare’s Nursing Team recruiting qualified EU Nurses for Gerontology Nursing Roles in Ireland, so I tried to put myself in the position of the potential candidates and I thought to myself....‘Why is Ireland a good place to work?’

There would be something wrong if I didn’t start off this blog by mentioning the extreme changes in weather we’ve experienced in Ireland over the last 2 weeks.  Last week was gloriously sunny, and improved everyone’s moods.  Switch to this beginning of this week and we were thrust violently back into the cold, with snow and sleet falling yesterday – what is wrong with Mother Nature???

With the clocks having gone forward an hour meaning we wake up to brighter mornings like today, the season of Spring gives everyone hope, and we all begin looking forward to the Summer approaching.  Easter would be considered the official start of “looking forward” – baby chicks and ducklings, fluffy bunny rabbits, being able to gorge on delicious chocolate eggs without feeling overly guilty,  and the opportunity to spend more time with family and friends due to the long weekend off work, what could be nicer?

This period of the year also is associated with new beginnings – green buds appearing on the trees, shoots pushing their way through previously frozen ground to be warmed by the sun, the birthing of baby lambs, etc.  Here at Cpl Healthcare, we continually see a rise in applications after the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, as people begin thinking about new beginnings in their own lives, and decide they want to pursue alternative employment.

With permanent Nursing opportunities currently across Ireland, the UK and Channel Islands, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Australia, now is the time for you, as a Nurse, to start your new beginnings – don’t hesitate to contact me with any queries you may have re working in the above locations.

Have a “hoppy” Easter! J

Nurses graduating in 2012 must be feeling a little uneasy about their future and what direction their nursing career is going to take. You turn on the radio and the topics of choice are spending cuts, IMF coming to Ireland and the Anglo Promissory notes. So what do you do? Are you going to stay in Ireland and wait for our economy to right itself while not developing your nursing career or are you going to make a move out of Ireland and kick start your career in the direction you want it to go?

Portuguese Nurses

11/08/2011

Like many of you, I am sure you are dismayed at the poor state of the global economy and mass job shortages.  As a nurse I have always felt that my qualifiaction is as valuable as my passport as our skills open us to a world of employment opportunities. Never has this been more evident than in recent months with a massive shortage of  specialist aged care, cardiology, surgical and mental health nurses in Ireland, the UK and the Channel Islands.
While our skills are in high demand, we as a profession are not without our challenges and have been forced to look further afield than our own countries for work. It is a daunting prospect but one we should not be fearful of. Having recently relocated to London from the comfort of my home town in Dublin I can appreciate people being reluctant to move. While you would be leaving the comfort of home you would also be embarking on a new career with massive opportunities and opening yourself up to new experiences. At Cpl Healthcare we specialise in nurse recruitment and can provide advice and support about relocating and pointing you in the right direction.

There are great jobs out there waiting for you!

New Tool for GPs

08/12/2010

Ireland’s first online medical directory will be launched in Dublin Monday 6th of December 2010.

The directory which is targeted at busy GP Healthcare Professionals is free to use. Its aim is to help doctors in general practice, by improving the scope of information available during a consultation and ultimately saving time in making assessments etc. This website is funded by the revenue advertising sales generate.

I hope it’s a successful initiative for its founders Dr. Darach Ó Ciardha and Dr Shane McKeogh.
